I had been searching for someone or something to join, be supported by and/or mentored. In my quest to write my book, I felt stuck, not knowing which way to turn to enable a more creative flow. Dare I say, I stumbled across Meg in my search. For whatever reason this felt right. I have joined in her monthly Monday online sessions. Each month we cover something different, e.g., Imposter Syndrome – this was a big one for me.
I took the plunge to attend the four day writing retreat to be held in Kinglake which is a ninety minute drive from Melbourne. The beautiful scenic bush drive was already setting the scene for what was to come. The environment was welcoming, as was Meg, on my arrival.
This retreat welcomed four participants making a lovely intimate group. We each had our own cottage with a wood fire which was conducive for privacy and creative writing time. The cottages were well equipped, comfortable and spaced well between cottages. All meals and snacks were provided with Meg demonstrating her delicious home-made soup skills.
I gained a lot from the daily morning workshops, the one-on-one coaching session in my cottage with Meg and took advantage of another one-on-one feedback session with Meg on my writing. I left the retreat feeling I had more clarity, more possibilities for my book and a new perspective. Meg was able to open my thinking to trust myself in my writing.
Meg is warm, approachable, a good listener and very approachable. It was a delight to find someone who I felt so comfortable with and held the space so naturally. I am already planning for another retreat with her next year.
