As an editor, Meg helps your words work, better.

Editor
Meg has over twenty-five years’ experience as an editor. Her editing services include: manuscript assessments, editing (copyedit and proofread), and coaching.
Meg helps writers in a multifaceted way through her editing services, coaching and mentoring and Writing Momentum, and writing retreats. Often, a client moves from needing help with editing to coaching and attending Writing Momentum.
Clients who take up a coaching and momentum membership receive priority access to Meg’s editing services.
Editing services
The normal flow of editing services is from manuscript assessments to copyedits to proofread.
Manuscript assessment
A manuscript assessment helps you understand what is and isn’t working.
It concentrates on the core story elements of arc, plot, characters, voice and pace; and, ascertains how to tighten the narrative, deepen characterisation and expand or reduce the manuscript to help maintain a compelling pace.
Copyedit
A copyedit, also known as a line edit, is done once the manuscript is structurally sound, and all big picture issues have been addressed.
This involves tightening sentences, sharpening expression, eliminating redundancies in the narrative.
Proofread
A proofread is a major quality control step and ensures that the document is ready to be published or submitted.
Proofreading polishes your writing, picks up overlooked glitches. It examines the grammar, punctuation and spelling.
