What makes this Writing Momentum Chapter unique

This 8-week live writing and accountability workshop explores connections and distances through the lens of poetry, powerful prompts and thought-provoking questions. You’ll deepen your relationship with your writing across all forms of creative writing – from developing characters in a novel to capturing family dynamics in memoir or exploring personal relationships in reflective writing.

Your weekly writing structure

Every Wednesday at 7:00 AM (Melbourne time) for 8 weeks

  • 7:00–7:10 AM: Featured poem and thought-provoking prompt
  • 7:10–7:50 AM: Focused, silent writing time
  • 7:50–8:00 AM: Weekly accountability check-in

Can’t make the live session? Every session is recorded, and you’ll receive the weekly prompts via email with lifetime access to work with at your own pace.

Build lasting habits with community support

Writing Momentum isn’t just about individual sessions – it’s about building a sustainable writing practice. You’ll join a supportive community of writers working toward their goals, sharing progress, and maintaining momentum together. The weekly accountability check-ins help you stay committed to your writing goals, whilst the community forum provides ongoing encouragement between sessions.

What you’ll gain from connections and distances

  • Creative inspiration: Poetry-based prompts that spark new ideas and fresh approaches to familiar themes
  • Writing consistency: Weekly structure that builds your writing habit and keeps you progressing toward your goals
  • Community accountability: Regular check-ins and peer support to maintain your writing momentum
  • Versatile techniques: Skills that enhance fiction, memoir, creative non-fiction, poetry, and personal writing
