How can you write your book when everything else has your time and attention?
Write that book before I die
A masterclass to unlock your potential
Discover the step-by-step formula from a creativity coach on how you can get your book written
What is this event about?
While the title of this event is cheeky, what I often hear from writers is that they just want to write that book before they die. This is why I created this masterclass.
What I do know is that everyone needs creativity, especially writers. From working with hobby and professional writers and artists for many years, I've discovered similar issues cropping up.
You may recognise some of these:
- I don't have time
- There's nowhere for me to write (or create)
- I've got no energy once I've got everything else for everyone else done
- It's not on my to-do list
- It used to be on my to-do list but keeps being moved because there are so many other important things that I need to do.
These writers and artists tell me that because of other priorities, they're not sure they should continue trying to find the time for it, that it may be better off left as a dream. Even though the one thing that they really want is to finish that book.
This masterclass will provide you with some great strategies on how you can make time and space for your writing so that you can finish it in a sustainable way.
What about if you could move from deep frustration of not getting the writing done ...
... to joyfully writing and finishing that book (or collection of stories)
FAQ
Yes, this event is for anyone who is trying to write their book. Whether this is a book you are writing for your own pleasure, for self publishing or to submit to publishers, this event is for you.
This masterclass is free because I use a freemium marketing method, which means that I provide great value by educating and offering free expert advice. People may then decide to take up my services which will help them achieve their goals faster.
I'm like everyone else. I hate going to something free only to find out that it's all a sales pitch. So, I will be showing you some great strategies that you can take into your writing practice to help you get that book written. I will also talk about how I can help you further, if you want more. For everyone who attends, I will provide a special offer for my retreats and coaching program.
Who's this event for?
Hobby
writers
You like writing stories in notebooks or in the computer. You don't know what these stories will be, but you're having fun. You may not know any other writers, or where you might submit your writing, but it's been a life long passion to write. Maybe you don't want anyone else to read your writing, but you've discovered that writing can be a deeply joyful and therapeutic activity. If you just had the time...
Early
writers
You're just starting out. You haven’t done much writing or attended many workshops. You've probably thought about it, a lot, and may have done some reading up on how to write and on what you're trying to write. You might have sent some pieces of writing off to competitions or publishers, but so far have not been listed for any award or have been published.
Emerging
writers
You've done a fair amount of writing and have read some books on writing. You might have attended writing workshops before and might be currently studying or might have studied writing at a university or TAFE. You most likely have had some short pieces published or been listed for some awards. You might have a contract for a book or have an agent.
Established writers
You've had a full length book of fiction, short fiction or non-fiction published by a mainstream publisher. You are familiar with the publishing industry. You may have a contract for another book (or not, and that may be causing some angst). You would love to be even better at the craft, more well known or more published.
What you'll learn
During the one-hour online masterclass, you'll learn some theory and practical steps to help you get your book written.
Sustain your creative flow
Creative flow is that state that all creatives long for. It's that space where everything around you disappears and you are totally absorbed in your work. Sustaining this, takes effort. You'll learn some techniques that help you to sustain this and ways to tap into it whenever you want.
Embrace experimentation
Experimentation can feel risky when creating, but it is one of the most important aspects of creativity.
During this event you will learn more about why experimentation is so important and you'll get some strategies that you can embrace straight away.
Embed time management habits
Time management can seem counterintuitive to creativity. Writers often wait until their muse, or the right time comes, to do their writing. Unfortunately, this means that creativity often comes last leading to disappointment. During this event, you'll learn some ways to embed your creativity time into your daily life.
Overcome mental blocks
Mental blocks are one of the things that most get in the way for writers. They often see the whole project as too big, or that they don't have the skills, or that someone else is better than them. By learning how to overcome these mental blocks, you will find a joyful way back into your creativity and learn that it is in the act of creating that you overcome the blocks.
