My second book

When I was in grade 4 I wrote my first book. It was Mr Giggle and was styled on the incredibly well known Mr Men series. I was proud of what I had produced, but my mum scoffed and said, “That’s not very imaginative.”

I didn’t believe her then, and still don’t. They were my words, and my illustrations. Her words have however pushed me to constantly challenge myself.

Some year ago, I hand wrote, illustrated and stitched my second book. I wrote it with love and passion for my sister. It’s a story about welcoming a baby who has a cleft palate – her son.

It’s not brilliant, but I created it and am as equally proud of it as I am of my Mr Giggle book as I understand that they were both part of my journey as a writer.
